• The decision making body of the OECD is the OECD Council, which consists of the ambassadors of the 34 member states and the European Commission. Its president is the secretary general of the OECD. The MCM is the annual meeting of the Council at the ministerial level and it is the main decision making body of the OECD.
  • The participants of the MCM discuss the most important contemporary economic and social issues and possible policies, based on OECD’s work and their own experiences. Additionally, they provide guidance for the future work of the OECD.
  • In general, the participants of the MCM include the economic, foreign and trade ministers of the 34 member states, as well as the relevant commissioners of the European Commission. Ministers of the most important partner countries of the OECD and heads of international organizations also often attend the MCM as invitees.
