• Every year, the presidential role of the MCM is fulfilled by one of the member states, in 2016 by Chile. As traditionally the head of government of the president is also present the meeting, therefore the attendance of Michelle Bachelet, president of Chile is also expected.
  • The work of the president is assisted by the vice-chairs, this year by Hungary, Finland and Japan.
  • The president and the vice-chairs have an important influence on the main issues of the MCM, and they have a considerable impact on the organization of the meeting (issues discussed, structure of the meeting). This way, they directly influence the future of OECD’s work.
  • The president and the vice-chairs, in addition to secure the participation at the ministerial level, are chairing the agenda items (plenary discussion, breakout group discussion). Therefore, this year Hungarian ministers also have the possibility to be key participants of certain agenda items.
